February saw the return of the renowned charity quiz hosted by Enoch Evans LLP  held at The Village Hotel in Walsall. The evening helped raise £1,150 for Rosie’s Helping Hands Charity Trust and St. Giles Walsall Hospice. Rosie’s Helping Hand Charity Trust helps to improve the quality of life and care for children and young people (up to the age of 25 years) within a 20 mile radius of Walsall. St. Giles Walsall Hospice which opens this Spring, will provide high quality care for local people with cancer and other serious illnesses and support for their families. Karen Ross from Rosie’s Helping Hand Charity Trust and Margaret Wood from St. Giles Walsall Hospice began the evening with a brief talk about their respective charities.

The Village Hotel in Walsall kindly donated use of one of their rooms and everyone agreed what an excellent venue it was. 33 teams of four entered and prizes were handed out for first, second, third and last place, as well as a prize for the best team name. “Axis of Ignorance”, otherwise known as Bakers Accountants in Walsall won the coveted first place, “Ain’t Got a Clue” from Brownhills Townswomen’s Guild did not quite make it but came an extremely close second and “Strongest Team” from Crowe Clarke Whitehill came third. A “booby prize” was handed to “The Lip Readers” from Lancaster Clements’ who came last. All of the teams submitted highly creative names but Burgoyne & Co. won the best name prize with “Saturn Uranus”!! The raffle itself raised almost £300 thanks to excellent prizes donated by clients, professional contacts, Enoch Evans LLP staff and local businesses.

David Evans, Managing Partner of Enoch Evans LLP and quiz master for the evening commented that “the evening was a tremendous success, raising a not inconsiderable sum for the two worthy causes we are supporting this year. Everyone who joined us on the evening seemed to really enjoy themselves, despite some finding some of the questions quite challenging.“
