Barry Guest, Partner at Walsall based law firm Enoch Evans, last night welcomed over 100 guests to the Village Hotel in Walsall to join the firm in a celebration of the history of the Black Country.
Kicking off with a step back in time to 1884 and the first records of the Evans family, Barry Guest, took the audience on a trip through the ages bringing out the humble beginnings, to the recruitment of the first non-Evans partner Laurence Skan in 1958, the relocation to the present offices in Hatherton Road, Walsall (and subsequent expansion!!) right up to the modern day. He also introduced personally the key roles of each of the Partners, present on the evening, referring to the wide range of services and talent the 36 Fee Earning Staff of Enoch Evans offers the public and business community.
Focusing more specifically on the host firm, Managing Partner David Evans went on to highlight the thriving success of the Black Country region and its differing physical boundaries. A subject which falls conveniently into current debate surrounding proposals to re-brand Birmingham and its surrounding regions, including the Black Country, as ‘Greater Birmingham’.
David Evans outlined the many modern facets that make Enoch Evans a blossoming law firm, looking to recruit additional quality individuals in the coming months. Particular areas of success for the firm include growing matrimonial, private client, dispute resolution, employment, corporate and commercial teams.
Speaking about the current business climate, David Evans commented that "We are ready to face the impending challenges head-on. As the UK economy and, in particular, the regional economic landscape alters, we will adapt to changes whilst retaining our standing as a leading law practice across our heartland of Walsall and the Black Country, as well as nationally and internationally, to continue to deliver the highest quality advice, service and value for all of our clients".
Entertainment on the night included a performance by local husband and wife duo Dandy who had guests captivated by their comedic sketches and regional humour
