Walsall-based legal practice Enoch Evans has announced the appointments of Karen Billington and Colin Wilkes.
Enoch Evans Solicitors first began providing legal solutions back in 1884 and today are an integral part of the Walsall community. Working to a company maxim of ‘excellence as standard’, the teams at Enoch Evans offer commercial and private services, including legal advice, dispute resolution and property.
New Associate Solicitor Karen Billington joins the firm after 4 years at Coventry-based practice Newsome Vaughan and 6 years at Prior Cumberlidge and Pugh in Birmingham. Karen completed her law degree at the University of Central England and her legal practice course with De Montfort University.
Karen will be specialising in elderly client work, particularly the drafting of wills, the administration of deceased estates, disputes surrounding the validity of wills and the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney. Karen is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and the Probate Section of the Law Society. She is also an Associate Member of the Association for Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
On her new role at Enoch Evans Karen said, “I will be meeting clients on a daily basis and advising them on all aspects of Wills and Probate. I often meet clients going through a difficult and emotional time in life and can advise them in a helpful and sympathetic way. The most satisfying part of my role is being able to offer support and assistance to clients in times of difficulty.”
Also joining the firm is new Practice Manager, Colin Wilkes. For the past 12 years Colin has been running his own business, working as an IT/Practice Management Consultant to law firms and legal IT systems providers nationwide. Colin has also worked for a number of law firms in the Birmingham area as a Legal Cashier and for legal IT suppliers as a Project Manager.
In his new role as Practice Manager, Colin will be primarily dealing with the day-to-day management of the firm including financial management, IT management, HR and facilities management.
On his appointment and plans at Enoch Evans, Colin commented, “I was extremely pleased to be asked to join the team at Enoch Evans as they have a superb reputation as a dynamic law firm. It will be an exciting challenge to be part of the future development and success of the practice. I am looking forward to building on the achievements here and developing the already well established status and reputation of Enoch Evans, not only in the Midlands area but throughout the UK.”
The two new appointments come as Enoch Evans continue to revolutionise the way they do business, and follow a number of exciting appointments to the firm over the last 12 months.
