The Enoch Evans LLP Breakfast Forum is a chance for local businesses and professional services firms to meet to discuss the legal issues and practical challenges that surround businesses today.
Industry experts met over breakfast at the firm’s Walsall offices on Wednesday 8th December to discuss the world of Commercial Property. Led by Andrew Pointon, Dispute Resolution Partner and Simon Hayden, Commercial Property Senior Solicitor, the forum was a chance for those whose specialise in this field to share ideas and experiences regarding the burning issues of the day, especially in this challenging economic climate. Discussion topics included negotiating appropriate terms with a prospective new tenant to secure the landlord’s position, how to deal with the problem of unpaid rent, taking back or surrendering a lease in the event of tenant default and the thorny question of claims for dilapidations.
The forum received an excellent response from attendees who included representatives from Fraser Wood Chartered Surveyors, Bulleys Chartered Surveyors and Silk, Plant and Associates. Additional Enoch Evans LLP representatives also took part - Leighann Richards, Commercial Property Partner and Erica Pritchard, Dispute Resolution Senior Solicitor.
Andrew Pointon, Dispute Resolution Partner and Forum host commented that “these are difficult times for commercial landlords. The continuing decline of the high street is clear evidence of this. It is essential therefore, that all of us who are involved in the commercial property industry are switched on to the everyday problems which our clients face. This forum was an excellent opportunity to exchange views and share practical experiences.”
If you would like to discuss any aspect of leasing, buying or selling commercial property, or if issues have arisen in the landlord and tenant relationship which need to be resolved please do not hesitate to contact Leighann, Simon, Andrew or Erica on (01922) 720333 or visit the website at www.enochevans.co.uk for more information. |
